Benji Gregory, the former child star of the 1980s American hit sitcom series ALF, has reportedly passed away, leaving behind an estimated net worth of $1 million to $5 million.
While the cause of Benji Gregory’s untimely demise remains unknown, his sister Rebecca shared and confirmed the unfortunate news with TMZ.
She said they found his soulless body inside his car on June 13 at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.
While the new generation barely knows about Benji Gregory, he was a phenomenal child actor in the late 80s for his role as Brian Tanner in 101 episodes of the sitcom ALF, contributing as a base towards his million-dollar net worth.
Benji Gregory had a successful acting career but left it and enlisted in the US Navy in 2003!
Born Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg on May 26, 1978, in Encino, CA, Benji Gregory grew up in a family full of actors.
So, following the family legacy, he made his acting debut in an episode of Fantasy Island (1977) and later guest-starred on The A-Team and TJ Hooker. But he got his breakthrough role as Brian in the sitcom ALF.
While the official figures are not available, given the show’s hype and success, the ALF cast was reportedly paid well enough.
Following that, Benji worked on other acting projects, like Fantastic Max, Pound Puppies, Murphy Brown and Jumpin’ Jack Flash. In 1993, he also lent his voice to the animated feature Once Upon a Forest.
His acting career was at its peak then, so he must have made fortunes from TV shows, guest appearances, and brand deals. Having said that, Benji Gregory made a major career change in 2003 as he enlisted in the US Navy.
According to TMZ, Benji graduated as an Aerographer’s mate whose salary generally ranges between $73,000 and $115,000 per annum. Later, in 2005, he received an honorable medical discharge from the Navy.
Now, considering his entire acting career earnings, his time in the Navy, and his investments, Benji Gregory had an estimated net worth of $1 million to $5 million.
