The former contestant of Married at First Sight NZ, Andrew Jury, tragically passed away at the age of 33, leaving his parents in deep sadness and bewilderment, seeking answers for his tragic death.

He was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, to his father, Roy Jury, and his mother. Andrew has never revealed his mother’s name on social media, unlike his father.

Meanwhile, Andrew Jury used to live in Auckland, away from his parents. But he often showered his love for his family on social media as he used to share joyful moments with them, like on holidays and vacations.

He was an outgoing and spontaneous individual and had a positive family life. His parents deeply cared for him and supported him throughout his life.

Andrew Jury’s father revealed he was struggling in prison and stopped communicating with them

Roy Jury shared that his son was arrested on April 2 as he faced charges of assault with intent to injure, wilful damage, and possession of an offensive weapon.

He told to The Herald his son was on remand at Mt Eden Corrections Facility at the time and died just hours before a scheduled court appearance.

Mt Eden prison general manager Dion Paki said he passed away on the morning of Thursday, June 27, despite the efforts of medical and emergency staff to save him.

Meanwhile, at the time of his death, his father said Andrew was struggling in prison and had stopped communicating with family and friends.

So, his father had concerns about his son’s mental state before the court hearing on Thursday. He said, “It should have been a red flag when Andy stopped communicating with family and friends.”

Nevertheless, the exact cause of his death is not specified. Police said, “The d*ath is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.”

Additionally, Andrew Jury’s fellow contestants from MAFS posted on Instagram together, saying, “Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our shared experience and he valued his time on the show.”
