Rumors have been circulating online that Disgust will not appear in the new movie Inside Out 2, but this is not true; instead, only the voice actors have been replaced. And these rumors are making people assume and question what happened to Disgust.
Disgust made her first appearance in toddler Riley’s mind when she was about to be fed broccoli.
Due to some contractual issues, the new movie replaces Mindy Kaling, the voice actor of Disgust, in the first movie, with Liza Lapira.
Therefore, only the voice actors are not able to return, and the characters of Riley’s emotions remain the same.

Inside Out 2 announces Amy Poehler as the voice of Joy, and people are curious about other emotions
Since Joy is one of Riley’s main emotions, the studio is paying Amy, the lead character’s voice actor, more than the others.
Amy received $5 million, excluding the extra bonuses, whereas the other actors received 2% of what the lead actors received.
Because of this factor, the voice actors of Fear and Disgust chose to leave the movie, although Disney offered to raise their pay.
Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling are confirmed to not return as Anger and Disgust in Pixar’s ‘INSIDE OUT 2’.

The new Inside Out 2 movie focuses on new emotions, Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy, introduced in the trailer itself.
Also, the trailer indicates that the new emotions dominate Riley’s mind, although the rest of them have become confined to the memory dump area.
In the first movie, Joy and Sadness get lost in the memory dump, so Disgust, Fear, and Anger manage Riley’s mind. As a result, Riley’s life becomes miserable.
At the end of the first movie, all five emotions are together, and Riley seems to have adjusted to her life in San Francisco.
Therefore, as a theory, the same might happen to emotions, and Riley’s teenage life is an emotional rollercoaster.
