Following the release of the Netflix docuseries Pop Star Academy, many got a look inside the making of a global girl group, Katseye, but among the ones who didn’t make it to the final rounds was Emily Ann Kelavos, a talented youngster of her league.
The 18-year-old aspiring singer, dancer, and actress rose to prominence with her work in the Emmy-winning series This Is Us, The Lazarus Effect, and Fresh Off the Boat before participating in The Debute: Dream Academy.
Moreover, Emily grew up in Dallas, Texas, alongside her siblings and later moved to Los Angeles, California, due to her dancing competitions and high school.
During her childhood, the aspiring actress participated in numerous competitions, which helped her build confidence and improve her dance moves as she trained under the guidance of Jeka and Molle.
After being discovered at a dance convention, Emily Kelavos hasn’t looked back at her life before the limelight since then, as she was one of the top-ranking girls in dancing during her initial selection for Katseye.
Additionally, the show introduced her as the first contestant, giving viewers high hopes about her being selected, but the final results were different than expected. Still, Emily hasn’t lost hope, as she has been practicing her moves to land more significant competitions in the future.

Throughout her appearance at the Dream Academy, Emily worked hard to maintain her position as a professional dancer and aced the additional challenge of dancing in heels.
Similarly, her kind and friendly nature helped her connect with people on the show as Emily became close with other contestants despite competing for the same position in Katseye.
Due to her dynamic and skills, viewers wanted to see her become the group’s leader, as they had included her in their predicted line-up. Emily had also been working hard to improve her vocals consistently.
Having won the Teen Female Dancer of the Year for Streetz Dancer 2021 and first position in the junior soloist star quest, the dancer shares a passion for the craft, which wasn’t as evident in other contestants as the viewers claimed.
However, in episode 2 of the series, Emily had an unfortunate time as she fractured her foot, couldn’t dance for six weeks, and had a breakdown at the end, which ultimately led to her departure from the show.
After her recovery, she continued to post dancing content on her Instagram and TikTok, which has over 50k followers. In her recent post, one of the users showed her support as, “I really rooted for you to debut but to be honest you’re kind of too talented to be in a kpop choreo type of group.“

Additionally, when talks about Britney Spears’s biopic sparked on the internet, people wanted “an unknown actress who can dance DOWN! No body doubles, just a girl we’re meeting for the first time who’s going to act and perform her a** off!“
With such remarks, fans hope to see Kelavos cast for the role, as the dancer tagged Britney in her Instagram reel, which quickly garnered over 21k likes on the platform.
