A native of Utah, Ezra Sosa has achieved much at such a young age, given his expertise in ballroom dancing. Coming from an immigrant family, Sosa has dedicated his life to working hard for his parents, who never had the luxury in their lives.
Born on November 16, 2000, Ezra Sosa became a US National Latin Ballroom Champion, which helped him establish his name in the entertainment industry. The 23-year-old grew up in an artistic family, and his sister, Stephani, is a dancer and actor.
Such an influence pushed Sosa to pursue dancing at age 2, and he continued to dedicate his time to the craft. He participated in the 16th season of the American TV series So You Think You Can Dance, where the dancer reached the top 6.
Following his passion, Sosa appeared in numerous national tours, movies, commercials, and TV shows, including America’s Got Talent and World of Dance. He joined Dancing with the Stars for its 30th season as a member of the show’s troupe dancers.
The dancer revealed his excitement about joining the show in an Instagram post captioned, “I have trained my whole life for this moment, truly a dream come true. I’m so grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to dance for all of you! It is the biggest honor of my life. Thank you.“
Similarly, Sosa appeared in the show’s following season, taking the role of associate choreographer and working with Luam for the season’s premiere performance. Despite being behind the cameras, Sosa was grateful for the opportunity to be associated with the platform.
Fortunately, Sosa’s pro-competition debut came in the same season when he replaced Artem Chigvintsev, who was diagnosed with COVID-19. In the show’s latest season, Sosa has returned as Anna Delvey’s dance partner.

From a young age, Ezra Sosa believed he was different from his colleagues. Growing up in a Mormon household, his mother, Lucrecia Sosa, imposed traditional values on the dancer and his sibling, which made things difficult.
When Sosa began to deviate from the heterosexual norms, he had to battle the backlash from his mother as she wanted her son to have a wife and a family in the future.
Likewise, Lucrecia was afraid of Utah’s judgemental society, leading to a drift in Sosa’s relationship with his mother. His mother disapproved of his choices for the longest time and maintained her distance.
However, for Sosa’s 22nd birthday, Lucrecia decided the biggest surprise for her son and tatted a rainbow to support the person he was becoming. After the birthday celebration, his mother’s love and support overwhelmed Sosa, which inspired him to get a similar tattoo to come to terms with his sexuality.
Sosa shared the emotional moment alongside pictures of their tattoos, writing, “To my mom, I love you endlessly, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of your incredible act of love towards me. If you relate to any part of it I hope you find your happiness and I pray your parents do to.“
Since then, the 23-year-old dancer has expressed his feelings more openly through performances alongside Jojo Siwa, Jonah Almanzar, and Keaton Kermode. Even his recent dance with Anna Delvey has gained praise from the judges and viewers, gaining over 30k views on the show’s official page.
