After playing the role of Finn in the series UnPrisoned, actor Faly Rakotohavana says that his respect and admiration for his parents, Karilynn and Wilfried Rakotohavana, has now increased due to their immense love and support.
In the latest season 2 of UnPrisoned, Faly’s character Finn faces the anxiety issues that he got from his mother’s emotional struggles and traumas.
So, the complex dynamics of Finn’s family dynamics seem to have greatly influenced the actor Faly Rakotohavana, making him realize how great and healthy environment his parents have maintained for them to grow.
In an interview with the BOSSIP, Faly said, “I go home and I am thankful for my parents every day when I get home from set. I thank God when I walk in.”
But it’s not like he did not appreciate his parents before this, as time and again, he often credited his family for achieving what he has achieved in his acting career.
Faly Rakotohavana’s heritage and parents shaped his journey to stardom!
Actor Faly Rakotohavana, 21, was born to parents Karilynn and Wilfried Rakotohavana on April 26, 2003, in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He grew up there with his two sisters till age six, and then the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
His father, Wilfried Rakotohavana, is of black race, while his mother, Karilynn, is white, so Faly Rakotohavana is biracial.
While not much information about his parents is available, it appears his father runs a wholesale business of crystal and fossils, as per his Facebook and LinkedIn profile.
Though his parents stay away from the limelight, Faly often uploads pictures of his family spending holidays together on his Instagram, hinting at a close-knit and supportive environment that has helped him navigate his acting career.
Moreover, his father, Wilfried, is also quite active on his social media accounts. On Faly’s 21st birthday, he took to his Instagram and wished him a happy birthday with a caption: “You are 21, my boy!!! Happy birthday, Benjamin Rakoto.”
On the other hand, it seems his mother is not on any social media; however, she is often featured in the posts of her husband and son.
Regardless, Faly Rakotohavana says, “They moved state lines for me, so they’ve put their lives into me, and I’m going to give it back… I’m going to make sure their sacrifices meant something.” From that, it is evident that he has a very supportive family whom he cheers and loves dearly.
