JJK will be wrapping up with the last chapter, 271, on September 29, 2024, and readers have been patiently waiting for the spoilers one last time. While some are excited, others are worried about the ending, saying that the previous chapters have not delivered well.

Talking about previous chapters, the preceding one, titled ‘The End of the Dream,’ begins with Megumi and Shoko giving the former’s sister, Tsukimi, a proper burial.

Megumi thanked the latter for her help and said that Gojo should have let her handle Geto’s burial as well.

Subtly, which many seem to have not noticed, Shoko threw away her cigarette into the dustbin after looking at it for a while, indicating that she may have quit.

Another character who seems to have changed their way is Gakuganji. When talking about Tengen’s alternative with Utahime and Nitta, he says not to rush things and to take their time, showing that he has changed his philosophies.

Moving on, we see Maki giving Hagane a katana and recommending that he and Rokujushi hide in Tokyo, which will become an epicenter for cursed spirits.

After telling them that the incarnated sorcerers will have their souls removed, Hagane expresses his feelings to Maki for one last battle.

The chapter then continues, showing us that Charles, a character Hakari previously beat, is working on his new project, Rin, a former opponent Yuji humbled, apologizing for his bullying of a former victim, and Takaba talking to a character who looks identical to Geto (Kenjaku).

We then see Higuruma talking with a lawyer about how he may work for the Jujutsu Society. Similarly, we have a moment when Hana and Megumi reconcile.

Lastly, the chapter ends with Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi getting ready for a new case involving a curse user.

While waiting for spoilers, fans speculate crazy stuff for JJK chapter 271!

The last chapter of the manga has generated a lot of hype, and fans have been presenting their own take on what the series finale will be like.

A popular theory among fans is that all the events up to this point are nothing more than dreams. This theory begins with the previous chapter’s name, ‘The End of the Dream.

A Reddit user named u/Ironmemez explained the theory clearly: “The idea is that this is a dream Megumi is having in which everything turns out fine provided to him by Yuji’s domain.

The user added, “Chapters 268-270 are very loose and non-linear, with scenes weaving into each other with a lack of cohesion, everyone’s unusually upbeat, and details like Megumi’s scars and the numbers on Yuji’s hand keep changing.

Similarly, another theory based on the previous chapter’s title is that the main trio will die in this chapter.

This theory is based on the idea that ‘The End of the Dream‘ can be translated to ‘The End of the YuMeNo.‘ This may indicate the end of the main trio, as fans refer to them as Yu, Me, and No, respectively.

Readers think that Kenjaku is still alive and is planning something atrocious!

The appearance of a figure similar to Geto (Kenjaku) has alarmed fans, and many think that he somehow managed to escape death, either by tricking Takaba into thinking that he is alive or by using a binding vow.

Fans think that Kenjaku’s plan to start the merger still hasn’t ended, and he is waiting for the conditions to be fulfilled.

Some are evening saying that he is working together with the curse user mentioned in the previous chapter to ambush the trio.

There is also a theory that Jin, Yuji’s father, is still alive and that he is the curse user. Some even joke that he will take the lives of the trio or only Yuji’s.

Aside from these popular takes, some fans still believe that Gojo is alive, as his fate hasn’t been directly discussed in the previous chapters.

Similarly, a small number of netizens believe that this curse user may be an incarnation of Mahito.

JJK spoilers for chapter 271 have yet to come out, but once they do, it will undoubtedly shake not only the fandom but the anime community as well.

Additional Information

  • When initially planning storylines for the manga, Gege Akutami had originally planned to make Nanami a villain.
  • Before creating Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege created other mangas like Kamashiro Sousa, No. 9, Nikai Bongai Barabarujura, and Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School (Jujutsu Kaisen 0).
  • Compared to the manga, Junpei Yoshino has more scenes in the anime. This was because Gege had personally requested the animation company to flesh out the character.
