Many people have been thinking Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles are the adoptive parents of American Gymnast Simone Biles; however, they are actually her grandparents, who took her when she was just six years old.

Simone’s biological parents had abandoned her in foster care as they were not capable of raising her on their own.

Since then, they have raised Simone as their daughter and introduced themselves as Simone Biles’ parents.

Therefore, people often get confused and find it hard to differentiate Simone Biles’ real parents from her grandparents.

Simone Biles’ biological parents are Shanon and Kelvin Biles, who left her in foster care after giving birth to her!

According to Life & Style, Simone Biles, 27, was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, to her parents, Shanon and Kelvin Biles.

Simone Biles did not have a great childhood, as her mother, Shanon Biles, was a drug and alcohol addict, while her father, Kelvin Biles, was never there for them.

Due to their chaotic family environment, her mother sent Simone Biles and her three siblings to foster care in 2000.

After looking at the poor condition of the children, Shanon’s estranged father, Ronald Biles, and his second wife, Nelli, decided to adopt them.

Ronald and Nelli, who are the grandparents of Simone Biles, adopted her in late 2001 after two years; they also adopted her younger sister, Adria Biles, in 2003.

In the Daily Mail interview, Simone’s mother, Shanon, said that when she signed the adoption paper for her child, her father warned her of “No communication, don’t call, and don’t visit. That’s how it was at the beginning.

After the adoption, she only got to meet her children after six years, as her father thought it was best for her children.

As Olympian gold medalist Simone grew up with her grandparents from a young age, she gave special thanks to them for her success, claiming they are the reason she is in this position today.

In an Instagram post, she uploaded a picture of herself with her grandparents with the caption writing, “Appreciation post for my sweet parents ❤️ thanks for making sacrifices since day 1 so I can live out my dream. But most importantly thanks for always being there for me through all the highs and lows. You guys are the absolute best. I love y’all 🤎
