Betinelli began thinking about taking alcohol out of my life when writing her 2022 memoir, Enough Already; however, the move wasn’t easy for the actress.

On July 1, 2024, she shared an Instagram selfie captioned, “Six months, no alcohol,” while tagging the Reframe app, which guided her throughout the process.

Despite her health’s ups and downs, it is safe to say that Valerie Bertinelli hasn’t passed away, as she recently participated in a Spatdown contest.

Bertinelli lost her partner to oral cancer, putting an unforgettable mark on her life!

Talking about Bertinelli’s connections, she married Eddie Van Halen in 1981, but her marriage was toxic due to his cocaine addiction.

Later, in 2010, Bertinelli married Tom Vitale and took responsibility for four stepchildren, but their bond couldn’t last due to clashing personalities.

With tragedies following Bertinelli one after another, she spiraled through alcohol and food abuse while dealing with hateful comments on the internet before finally breaking down on an Instagram video.

The actress responded to a hate comment by saying, “If I could lose the weight and keep it off, I would. But since I haven’t been successful with that my whole entire life, at 61, I’m still dealing with it. You think I’m not tired of it, lady?

Rising back from her misfortune, Bertinelli promised to turn her life around by practicing healthy food habits, which she promoted through two autobiographies: Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time and Finding It: And Satisfying My Hunger for Life Without Opening the Fridge.
