When Andrew McCarthy approached Judd Nelson to participate in his new documentary Brats, Nelson declined, prompting McCarthy to note, “Judd didn’t want to talk.”
However, he made a subtle cameo at the end of the documentary before the credits, where McCarthy answers a phone call saying, “Hello? Judd?” hinting at Nelson being on the other line, despite his lack of interest in revisiting the Brat Pack days.

Judd said, ‘the Brat Pack didn’t exist, so I don’t want to talk’
The director of Brats, Andrew McCarthy, attempted to contact Judd Nelson but had to go through his manager to get his phone number because Judd was out of touch.
After Judd declined McCarthy’s request, he told US Weekly, “It seems strange to have that subject matter be something for edited entertainment” giving a hint he does not want to be a part of the Brats.

He further states, “I don’t even know who’s in the Brat Pack. It’s like, why kind of rebirth something that wasn’t necessarily fun? … How can we be experts on something that didn’t ever really exist?”
However, the 65 year-old actor Nelson suggests that being a part of the Pack did not significantly highlight his career.
Although two members of the Brat Pack declined the offer, the director and writer of Brats did not hold any grudge against them and still was able to pursue other members.
McCarthy states, “The Brat Pack is an ongoing relationship, you know what I mean? And some people are at different places in their lives to want to or not want to talk about it. I think that just informs it even more. I mean, that’s my takeaway from it.”

However, it seems Judd does not necessarily count himself as part of the Brat Pack, as their friendship was limited to the set, and they parted ways as soon as the project was completed, which he mentioned in an interview.
