An English broadcaster, journalist, and co-anchor (on Fridays) of the ITV Breakfast program Good Morning Britain, Kate Garraway isn’t in any romantic relationship with a new boyfriend after the demise of her husband.
People are spreading rumors about Kate Garraway and her co-anchor Ben Shepherd’s relationship. However, there isn’t any evidence that he’s a new boyfriend of Kate Garraway, as Ben is already happily married to Annie Perks.
After divorce from her first husband, Ian Rumsey, Kate married Derek Draper, a political aide to former Labour cabinet minister Peter Mandelson and the center of the scandal known as Lobbygate.
Derek and Kate had two children together, with whom they lived happily in North London and raised their children with great responsibility.
Even after her husband’s demise, Kate Garraway showed her strength and resilience by striking an impressive balance between work and family life!
In 2020, Kate Garraway’s husband got covid, so he was in hospital for about a year, according to BBC News.
Kate Garraway says she has discovered a “new way to be in love” with her husband Derek Draper as he recovers from Covid, but he never recovered fully as he later passed away in January 2024.
This demise affected the whole family, but Kate had to move on in her personal life with her children and in her work life, too.
After the demise, Kate started giving her children and family more time as she regrets not spending more time with her husband and children. She stated, “I think if I have any regrets, it’s every single minute that I didn’t spend holding his hand.“
For this, she planned her first family holiday with her children, Darcey and Billy, after her husband’s demise.
She also said, “Children need to get used to life as a family of three, create new memories and look forward.“
Even at the most heartbreaking moment, Kate stood up straight for herself and her children and was doing so well. She hasn’t left work, though she took a break; she rejoined her work after the family holiday.
