The story of Tempest Night follows a peasant girl, Eunha, when she is forced to become a reading assistant for a blind nobleman, Jihak. In chapter 21, Tempest Night explores the tension between characters as they move to protect Eunha.

Eunha comes from a complex background. In early childhood, she entered the courtesan business alongside her sister Yeong as they tried to escape their past and lost their parents.

Moreover, Yeong is one of the best courtesans at the Hibiscus. However, every nobleman had their eyes on Eunha, given her beauty and mental strength. They had kept her off the register for the longest time, but the market heads wanted to sell her off.

On the other hand, Master Yoon develops feelings for Eunha despite people calling her a low life. Initially, the market head gives Yeong two choices: sell her off to Master Cho or put Eunha’s name on the register.

Soon, an unexpected turn of events leads Eunha to Master Jihak, who seeks a reading partner to help him read the Western language. Likewise, Jihak needs constant medical treatment and attention from caretakers.

Despite her hesitancy, Eunha decides to become the lord’s assistant. She plans to save money to free her sister from the horrors of courtesanship. In chapter 21 of Tempest Night, we notice a development of the relationship between Eunha and Jihak.

While Eunha was sick, the lord took his time to care for his assistant by sending her food, feeding her medicine, and taking her out for personal hygiene. Such actions surprised her, as she remembered spending a sensual night with Jihak.

Eunha receives a letter from home revealing the dangerous situation of her sister in Tempest Night!

The palace worker, Gari, gives a letter to Eunha, handed to her by the owner of a bookstore, Mr. Song. After reading its contents, she cannot contain her anger as her elder sister had been the target of violent attacks in the district.

Likewise, the letter reveals that Cho Youngho and other lords plan to take Yeong away to make her their slave. They found an old man in a critical situation near the town where her sister had been publicly humiliated.

The story then shifts to Master Yoon grabbing Yeong by her arms and taking her to his palace. However, Yeong claims rumors will be rampant if someone sees them together.

Meanwhile, the master explains that his mother will handle the situation, and Yeong is free to leave the town and live anywhere she wants as a concubine. But Yeong knows that the master is only concerned about Eunha.

As Yeong finished speaking, Joon raised his voice at the lady and stated, “Not only did you fail to keep Eunha safe by your side. But you’ve also doomed the both of you by living as a parasite in the first place.

Since the beginning of Tempest Night, Joon has openly described his feelings for Eunha as he took her under his wings and trained her to increase her chances of being adopted into a good family.

Joon’s part had gone haywire, and he wanted to satisfy his needs from Yeong as she shared the same facial features as her younger sister.

Yeong wanted to replace Eunha and develop a new life with Yoon while her sister served Master Jihak!

The events in Tempest Night, chapter 21, have paved the way for several possibilities. Joon wants to forget his first love with Yeong’s help. He wants to keep her as a replacement to prevent Eunha from hurting her feelings.

Moreover, Joon might want Yeong to offer him her body in the upcoming chapter to maintain his distance from Eunha. This implies that Joon buries his evil intentions under his sweet smile.

Although Joon wants to develop a relationship with Yeong, he remarks that she has become a sinner for the sake of her younger sister. Yeong has gone to extremes to protect Eunha from the evil eyes of noblemen.

The future chapters will explore a brief backstory of Master Jihak and his journey to becoming the leader of the Shadow Warriors. Despite his visual impairment, Jihak has an invincible aura, making him a dangerous ruler.

Similarly, Eunha has been considering a plan to meet with her sister, which the upcoming release could explore further. With Jihak’s support, the assistant might devise a way to keep her sister out of the hands of violent kings.
