In the latest episode 3 of House of the Dragon season 2, the English actor Freddie Fox has arrived as Ser Gwayne, a younger brother to dowager Queen Alicent Hightower.

However, this is not the first time Ser Gwayne has appeared on the show. In the pilot episode of House of the Dragon season 1, he competed in the Heir’s Tournament against Prince Daemon Targaryen and lost.

At the time, his armor and helmet covered his face, and he had very little screen time, so not many remembered his appearance.

But this time, Freddie Fox’s Ser Gwayne is back in King’s Landing to aid dowager Queen Alicent Hightower as her brother.

In real life, Freddie Fox is the brother of actress Emilia Fox and Lucy Preston!

Born Frederick Samson Robert Morice Fox on April 5, 1989, Freddie Fox is the son of Joanna David and Edward Fox.

While not many seem to know, Freddie Fox is the younger brother of Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox and a half-brother to Timeless actress Lucy Preston. That being said, the English actor does not have a brother.

However, in the show House of the Dragon, his character, Ser Gwayne, does have brothers, but there’s no mention of their number and identities.

In the series, Ser Gwayne appears to be an arrogant, spoiled knight who even goes on to irritate Lord Commander Ser Criston Cole.

He arrived at the King’s Landing right after King Aegon II Targaryen fired his father, Otto Hightower, as Hand of the King to march a host with Criston Cole to the Crownlands. Before this, he was living in the Oldtown in The Reach.

Ser Gwayne now plays a prominent role in keeping tabs on Lord Commander and the war council. In conclusion, he is there to represent the Hightower family during the entire Dance.

In the George R.R. books, he becomes second-in-command of the City Watch to ensure their loyalty never falters from King Aegon II Targaryen.
