Fred Omondi, brother of well-known comedian Eric Omondi, started as a comedian before moving to hosting in a club. Since then, his name has been featured in many club gigs nationwide.

His career in the entertainment industry is highlighted by innovation, hard work, and family support. Moreover, he was a vibrant and influential figure in Kenya’s entertainment industry.

Seeking his own identity, Fred started avoiding being associated with his brother. He adopted the style of comedy with a creative rhyme pattern and this saw him perform at Churchill Show a famous comedy show in Kenya.

In his life, Fred had much support from his elder brother Eric, who acted like a father figure and a mentor. This support was the key to his success and development as a comedian and a club host.

Fred Omondi led an honest life and passed away with dignity!

Fredrick Ofhiambo Omondi, commonly called Fred Omondi, was born in Kisumu, Kenya. Fred had good parental care as the youngest child of a family headed by a senior police inspector.

Further, Fred’s death is the second tragedy in the Omondi family. They have also lost their beloved family member, Joseph Omondi, who died in 2018 from drug-related problems.

Fred never revealed many details about his private life and past, but he revealed that he had a daughter. Even though he had a very demanding job, he always maintained a close relationship with her.

After completing his education, Fred moved to Nairobi with a clear vision of carving his way into the creative industry.

The hard work and commitment he displayed in demanding jobs proved fruitful. Quickly, he turned out to be one of the most sought-after club emcees in Kenya.

Unfortunately, Fred Omondi passed away in a road accident on Kangundo Road on the morning of Saturday, 15 June 2024. The police reports indicated that the accident happened when Fred, on a bodaboda, collided with a speeding bus.

Moreover, Fred passed away on the spot, and his body was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital.

The sudden death of Fred is indeed a big blow to the entertainment industry and everyone close to him. His friends and celebrities tweeted their condolences and mourned the loss of this talented individual.
